Anyway, that little tangent has nothing to do with this blog post so I’ll just try to get back on track! Can you tell my mind has already shifted from work to play??? I need to be more disciplined 😉
Heidi and Dave, though!!
Hanging out with them was more play than work! I loved meeting them already at their engagement session last year. They were fun, up for anything and even though we had the coldest and most windy day ever for their session they really made the best of it so I knew their wedding would be nothing short of awesome! Plus Heidi had emailed asking if I could come check out a barn on her parents property to see if it was something we could use for photos and I was kinda stoked about it! The photos in and around the barn below are some of my FAVES ever. And on top of allll of that Heidi’s a looker and her dress rocked my socks, too, so overall we walked in with a recipe for success. (Roxette’s “dressed for success” totally just popped into my head while I wrote that so I thought I’d include that random tid bit for your auditory pleasure. Go listen to it now. I am ;)) A few highlights of the day included the two (three?) monstrous spiders that managed to get caught in Heidi’s dress. I’ll be honest, I’ve seen a lot of bugs/creatures get caught in brides dresses but the spiders in Heidi’s dress take the cake for sure. They were large. And crawly. And hairy. And I’m glad they were on her and not me. Haha. I’m a terrible person, I know, but BAH!!!
I also really loved all of the little moments Heidi had with her dad. We captured some of the best expressions of love and excitement and quite honestly they can make me cry. The joy, satisfaction and emotional high I get from capturing those moments is down to the bare essence of what I love photography. These are moments that you only get to experience once. And in a day as busy as your wedding day the photos capturing those moments are invaluable. I really believe that. And if I could capture nothing but those moments for every one of my couples I would consider it a job well done.
Enjoy!
xoxo
