Shabby Chic Abbotsford Wedding : Melissa & Jeremy

Oh my gooodness. THESE two!! Seriously. Loveity, love, love!! Melissa & Jeremy planned the perfect shabby chic and elegant wedding ever and I can’t even get over how much I loved shooting it. Clearly when I write that they both planned it the emphasis falls more on Melissa, but Jeremy did his part by showing up in a navy suit with brown shoes. Downright studly. And noteworthy, too, as it was my only wedding this year with that combination of colors and I LOVED it!! Melissa’s lace dress with chiffon overlay was amaaaaazing and fit her like a glove. I honestly stopped and gasped over SO many of these photos on their day because I was so, so pumped with how good she was behind the camera, and how good they looked together. They didn’t even lose their cool when I started to get a little bossy and that’s sayin’ something!! Often when I’m working I have a certain shot pop into my head that I can’t wait to capture so when my bride and grooms oblige my every whim it can really make my heart sing!! I had Rebecca second shooting for me that day and she was also making sighing sounds from behind the camera, so I promise I’m not the only crazy one 😉 And yes, I’m totally throwing her under the bus by calling her crazy but she’ll just laugh it off cuz she’s the best and most sweet person you’ll ever meet, I swear it.

But, I digress…

The photos. The perfect weather. The happy couple who kept laughing and hugging and just generally being awesome!! Every photographer says it, but its honestly hard to believe sometimes that this is what I do for work. I mean, I really, really, really love doing this. I LOVE capturing these moments and I honestly laugh, or smile, or have heart palpitations when I’m editing because I’m probably just as invested in my bride and grooms love for each other as they are. Is that weird?? It sounds weird, but I mean it in the least creepy way possible. The wedding day is crazy. Its a ginormous flurry of activity and emotion that you don’t have time to internalize and you forget more than half of what happened by the time you come back from your honeymoon, but the photos bring them all back to life. Its amazing, really. And as I edit I get to relive all of the moments before the bride and groom do, so I say I’m allowed to be a bit emotionally invested 😉

But that was just a random tangent. My heart feels full. I feel happy and blessed and I’m so glad that people like Melissa & Jeremy trust me to capture all their moments. That means a ton.
